Michelle Caiola
Senior Counsel
Michelle Caiola is an experienced plaintiff-side employment discrimination litigator. She began her career at a plaintiffs’ employment law firm, moving in 1997 to the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) where she remained until 2008. While at the EEOC, she worked in agency field offices in St. Louis, Minneapolis, and Chicago before settling at the New York District office. While at the EEOC, Ms. Caiola worked on one of the agency’s largest pattern or practice sexual harassment cases, EEOC v. Mitsubishi, and she was the lead attorney on EEOC v. Morgan Stanley, a class action case alleging sex discrimination in pay and promotion that settled for $54 million dollars. Prior to her departure from the EEOC, she was co-litigating a cutting edge pattern or practice case of pregnancy and caregiver discrimination against Bloomberg, L.P. Ms. Caiola is a recognized national expert in employment law and practice with a background volunteering on behalf of battered women seeking protective orders. Ms. Caiola earned her J.D. with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1994 and graduated cum laude in 1989 from Kent State University.
