Legal Momentum Fellowships

Legal Momentum from time to time seeks law students, law clerks, other eligible recent law school graduates for fellowships for projects addressing the legal needs of women. We are the oldest national women’s rights legal organization, with a rich history in litigation, public policy development, advocacy, and education. We are dedicated to protecting and advancing the rights of all women in the United States. We have in the past sponsored applicants for Equal Justice Works, Skadden, Kirkland & Ellis, Echoing Green, Soros Justice, and other fellowships.

Currently, Legal Momentum is focusing on five priority areas to advance the economic and personal security of America's most vulnerable women: Violence against women; women's economic security; workplace rights, including pregnancy discrimination and freedom from sexual harassment; school and training equity; and eliminating gender bias in the courts. For further description of our work, please see www.legalmomentum.org.

Fellowship applicants need not have a fully developed project idea, but should specify areas of interest and suggest a one-paragraph project idea suggesting a target problem, population, and technical approach that utilizes Legal Momentum’s areas of expertise.

Application Procedure:

Interested students, clerks, and eligible recent graduates are asked to submit (1) a cover letter including areas of interest and one project idea, (2) resume, (3) transcript, and (4) sample of legal writing to our office. Only complete applications will be considered. Early applications are welcome; however, no application received less than four weeks before the fellowship application due date will be considered.

Legal Momentum is not currently seeking fellowship applications as of March, 2018. Please check back later for updates.
