On the Cutting Edge: Future Directions of Gender and Sexuality Law

Lynn Hecht Schafran, Senior Vice President of Legal Momentum and Director of the National Judicial Education Program (NJEP), served as a panelist for "On the Cutting Edge: Future Directions of Gender and Sexuality Law" at Columbia Law School's 2010 Reunion.

Schafran discussed the need for judicial education regarding adult victim sexual assault and co-occurring sexual assault and domestic violence. She described NJEP's efforts to educate judges on these issues, including the Program's upcoming Regional Team Meeting, an opportunity for judges and judicial educators from five states to learn about NJEP's curricula and resources and develop long-range plans to integrate, institutionalize, and sustain judicial education regarding adult victim sexual assault in their jurisdictions.
