Legal Momentum Congressional Testimony on Social Safety Net's Response to Recession

October 8, 2009 -- Read Staff Attorney Tim Casey's Testimony on behalf of Legal Momentum, which was submitted to the Subcommittee on Income Security and Family Support of the House Committee on Ways and Means for their hearling on the Social Safety Net's Response to the Recession. In it, Casey outlines how millions of women and children are living in extreme poverty, many experiencing hunger, eviction, and other deprivations, in significant part due to fundamental flaws in the safety net and the safety net’s failure adequately to respond to the recession.
