Legal Momentum Honors Real Estate Expert Lynn Sedway
at 2009 Women of Achievement Awards
NEW YORK-- Legal Momentum, the nation’s oldest legal defense and education fund dedicated to advancing the rights of women and girls, announces Lynn M. Sedway as a 2009 Woman of Achievement.
Recognizing women whose personal leadership has broken new ground for women in business, law, and public service, Ms. Sedway will be honored at the Fourth Annual Women of Achievement Awards Dinner, at The Presidio in San Francisco on June 16. The fundraising event brings together hundreds of advocates, professionals, and supporters of women’s rights whose contributions support Legal Momentum’s work to promote women’s economic and personal security. Ms. Sedway is a real estate consultant with particular expertise in real estate and urban economics. She is known for highest and best use studies and public-private partnerships for large land holdings, market studies, complex valuation analyses, and fiscal and economic impact studies. She has extensive experience in major market trends, including all forms of residential, retail, office, and mixed-use developments.
Ms. Sedway holds leadership positions and policy advisory roles in professional, academic, and governmental organizations. She currently serves on several boards including AMB Alliance Fund III, HG Capital, BRIDGE Housing, the San Francisco Planning and Urban Research (SPUR) Advisory Board, and the Swig Company. She is president of Congregation Sherith Israel. She also teaches at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, as an adjunct faculty member. Ms. Sedway is a former trustee and vice president of the Urban Land Institute.
Ms. Sedway was named one of the 150 Most Influential Women in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. She is one of five 2008 Silver SPUR Honorees.
Ms. Sedway will be recognized with Mary Huss, publisher of the San Francisco Business Times, and San Francisco Chief of Police Heather Fong.

Former recipients include: San Francisco District Attorney Hon. Kamala D. Harris (2006); Joanne Hayes-White, Chief of the San Francisco Fire Department (2007); and Anne W.
