Understanding Sexual Violence: The Judicial Response

Understanding Sexual Violence: The Judicial Response to Stranger and Nonstranger Rape and Sexual Assault (2005 Edition)

This highly regarded curriculum provides the most current social science research about how different victims react during and after the assault, rape-related post-traumatic stress disorder, sex offenders and sex offender sentencing and treatment, and jurors' attitudes towards rape. Originally developed in 1994, the 2005 edition builds on ten years of experiences presenting the curriculum across the country. The full model curriculum is comprised of a Faculty Binder that provides detailed directions for preparing the course and the DVD-ROM described above, which includes footage of the presentation of the neurobiology of trauma section of the curriculum at the Michigan Judicial Institute.
