The companion materials to the DVD for the Understanding Sexual Violence: The Judge's Role in Stranger and Nonstranger Rape and Sexual Assault Cases curriculum comprises a searchable, annotated database of articles and studies on all aspects of rape and sexual assault relevant to the criminal justice system.

This annotated database is the companion the highly regarded DVD curriculum Understanding Sexual Violence which focuses on dealing fairly with sexual assault cases, especially nonstranger rapes, without undermining defendants' constitutional rights. The curriculum consists of a DVD disc with both a DVD and a ROM portion, an associated website and an instructor's guide. It provides the most current social science research about how different victims react during and after the assault, rape-related posttraumatic stress disorder, the neurobiology of trauma, sex offender sentencing and treatment, and jurors' attitudes toward rape. The DVD is an enhanced version of the National Judicial Education Program's video curriculum of the same name, in use nationwide.
