This Web site is owned and operated by Legal Momentum with technical support, platform, and server hosting provided by a third-party technology company ("Provider"), which is currently Convio, Inc. Our Provider stores and organizes the personal information collected through this site on our behalf. The information remains under our control, and our agreement with our Provider requires the information to be kept confidential and disclosed only to Provider's employees who require such access in the course of their assigned duties.   

Subscribing to our site allows you to receive news and information from Legal Momentum about our work generally, and about issues that are of specific interest to you. We recognize that visitors to our site may be concerned about the information they provide to us, and how we treat that information.

Legal Momentum is committed to the highest standards of privacy, security and confidentiality in collecting, using, and protecting the information visitors provide to us, and we collect, via this Web site. Legal Momentum has created this Privacy Policy to explain why we collect particular information and how we will protect your personal privacy within our Web site. We use customer contact information from the registration forms to send the user requested information about Legal Momentum. Legal Momentum will never rent, trade or sell your e-mail address. However, we may on occasion share postal addresses with other like-minded organizations for the mutual benefit of both. Contact and Profile Information
Legal Momentum is the sole owner of the information collected on the Site. This Site does not collect personally identifying information about users except when you specifically and knowingly provide it. For example, we collect information from you in the following ways: Some areas of our Site request or require contact and other information. During the registration process, we collect personal and other information such as your name, address, and e-mail address. We may survey visitors and specifically ask you for demographic and profile data (e.g., age, gender and income level). We use such data to improve our communications efforts, to statistically analyze site usage, to improve our content and product offerings (such as publications), and to customize our site's content, layout, and services. Additionally, this data may be shared with third parties but only on an aggregated basis. Internet Protocol Address
As with most other Internet sites, our Web server automatically recognizes the domain name of each visitor to the site via the Internet Protocol ("IP") address. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. This information is used by solely by Legal Momentum and our host Convio, Inc. to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our Site, analyze trends, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the site, and deliver customized, personalized content. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information such as e-mail addresses.

Information from Children
We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.

Use of "Cookies"
Our Site may use cookies to enhance your experience while using our Site. Cookies are not programs that come into a visitor's system. Is Credit Card and Other Information Secure?

This method is the industry standard security protocol, which makes it extremely difficult for anyone else to intercept the credit card information you send to us. You should know that the credit card information you provide is NOT stored in the Legal Momentum database.

Choice/Opt-Out
Legal Momentum provides users with the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us at any time. Legal Momentum gives users the following options for removing their information from our database to not receive future communications.

  • You can e-mail us at webmaster@legalmomentum.org.
  • You can click on the "Unsubscribe" link included at the bottom of your e-mail and follow the instructions on the Web page.
  • You can update your profile. After entering your User Name and password, you will access your "My Legal Momentum" page. From there, you can subscribe or unsubscribe from our e-mail newsletters by clicking on the accept e-mail selection. Our unsubscribe requests are processed immediately.

Correct/Update
Legal Momentum gives you the following options for changing and modifying information previously provided.

  • Upon your request, we will also remove any other personally identifying information we may retain from our databases. To make any such changes or requests: e-mail us at webmaster@legalmomentum.org.
  • You can update your profile. After entering your User Name and password, you will access your "My Legal Momentum" page and view, update and/or remove your account information. Additional residual information may remain in our archives and records, but this information will not be used for any commercial purpose. We reserve the right to maintain information on users who have violated our Terms of Use or who have had their access to our Site blocked. <

Tell-A-Friend & E-mail this Page Services
If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our Site, we ask them for the friend's name and e-mail address. Legal Momentum will automatically send the friend a one-time e-mail inviting them to visit the Site. Legal Momentum stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time e-mail. The friend may contact Legal Momentum at webmaster@legalmomentum.org to request the removal of this information from our database.

Surveys
We may conduct occasional online surveys via our Web site or via an e-mail newsletter. These surveys are entirely voluntary and you may easily decline to participate. Participating in an online survey does not automatically add your name to the subscriber list for the Legal Momentum Newsletter or other outreach efforts.
