A productive workplace is an inclusive workplace, one in which employees feel supported and safe to disclose a disability, without fear or worry.  To help employers learn strategies for fostering such an environment, ODEP’s National Employer Policy, Research and Technical Assistance Center for Employers on the Employment of People with Disabilities (Employer TA Center), in coordination with the Federal Partners Committee on Women and Trauma, will host a webinar titled Creating Resilient Workplaces: Safe Space Leads to Engaged, Productive Workers on Jan. 27, 2015 from 3-4:30 pm EST. Legal Momentum’s Vice President for Government Relations, Lisalyn Jacobs, will be a presenter. Lisalyn provided technical assistance to federal agencies to help create their workplace violence policies and has also worked with large employers in the private sector on implementing workplace violence policies.

Stalking & Sexual Assault

Stalking is a crime that is often co-perpetrated with other crimes, such as domestic violence and sexual assault. Research supports a connection between stalking and sexual assault—both pre- and post-assault. Sadly, this link is often overlooked. Legal Momentum’s National Judicial Education Program will present a webinar on The Intersection of Stalking and Sexual Assault that will explore the nature and dynamics of stalking, focusing on its intersection with sexual assault. We will also discuss ways in which this information impacts our responses to and services for victims. This session will provide useful information and strategies for a wide variety of professionals, including prosecutors and other lawyers, law enforcement, medical professionals, judges, victim advocates, journalists and communications professionals, and others who interact with and write about sexual assault victims. Michelle M. Garcia, Director, Stalking Resource Center, National Center for Victims of Crime, will be the presenter.
