Feminist icon Muriel Fox cofounded the National Organization for Women (NOW) and the powerful NOW Legal Defense & Education Fund (now Legal Momentum), one of the most pivotal forces in the Second Wave Feminist Movement. As organizing lieutenant to Betty Friedan and head of NOW’s communications, Fox was central in creating both national NOW and its New York Chapter.
In her new book, THE WOMEN'S REVOLUTION: How We Changed Your Life, to be released by New Village Press on June 18, she reveals the laws, lawsuits and victories that transformed lives forever and she salutes "29 women and 1 man whom history must not forget." Fox was also cofounder and president of The Women’s Forum, which established “networking” for women, and is chair of Veteran Feminists of America. As Executive Vice President of Carl Byoir & Associates, Muriel Fox became the world’s preeminent woman in public relations.
Fox was a Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude graduate of Barnard College in 1948. At age 96, Muriel Fox remains one of the most influential leaders in the feminist movement.
