Before new judges preside in an adult victim sexual assault case or a case of co-occurring domestic violence and sexual abuse, they should know that these cases present unique challenges, and that there are resources to assist judges in meeting them. New Judges Orientation programs are often filled with administrative, procedural and substantive information. While it may not be possible to present a full-scale program about adult victim sexual assault cases, it is the time to alert new judges to the challenges and resources that exist in adult victim sexual assault cases.
