This sheet is part of our collection of eleven Teen Dating Violence Information and Resources Sheets.
Violence in teen dating relationships is as prevalent, harmful, and dangerous as it is in adult domestic violence cases. Research shows that 1 in 5 teenage girls in a relationship has reported being sexually or physically abused, which can lead to depression, eating disorders, and poor school performance in its victims.
This resource discusses the prevalence of teen dating violence (TDV), the ways in which can be perpetrated and how judges can screen for it, as well as the severe risks TDV poses to its victims including potential lethality.
