 2022 Rights Now! Graduation

At the end of June, our talented group of Peer Educators attended their final Rights Now! meeting for the 2021-2022 program year. We held a special graduation to celebrate all they’ve learned that was full of joy, laughter, and gratitude. Our Peer Educators spent months training in our workshop series, offering crucial feedback and suggestions to update the content with information most relevant to young people. The Peer Educators went on to facilitate trainings across New York City, including workshops at the Hetrick Martin Institute and Hunter College. We received rave reviews praising our educators for their dedication, kindness, and intelligence. We are so proud of their achievements.

Some of the Peer Educators finished their academic programs this year and will move on to careers in public health, mental health counseling, and social media engagement. Others are continuing their education and will gain degrees in psychology, creative writing, and business. We are grateful for their brilliant minds and constant commitment to Rights Now!, despite the struggles of remote learning and COVID-19.

Supporting the young people in our communities is essential to ending gender-based violence and discrimination. We look forward to welcoming a new cohort of inspiring Peer Educators this fall.
