Remembering Gwen Ifill

If you are being watched, leave now!

Legal Momentum is greatly saddened at the passing of NBC, PBS, Washington Post, and New York Times journalist extraordinaire Gwen Ifill. She was a role model to countless women, and a trailblazer. She was the first African-American woman to host a major political talk show when she headed Washington Week in Review, and with Judy Woodruff was one of the PBS NewsHour’s first female co-anchors. She explored topics that impacted women, and was not afraid to ask powerful people tough questions related to gender equality—like the impact of AIDS on American women. As President Obama said, “She not only informed today's citizens but she also inspired tomorrow's journalists.” She and her strong, probing voice for equality will be greatly missed.
