A Letter from our Legal Director on our 50th Anniversary

As we near our 50th anniversary as the nation’s first and oldest legal advocacy organization for the rights of women and girls, I have had the good fortune of participating in almost all of our groundbreaking work. First as a cooperating attorney, then as Director of the National Judicial Education Program (NJEP) and most recently as Legal Director.

Our Priorities

To advance the cause of gender equality, we continue to engage in impact litigation, legislative advocacy, and educational initiatives to advance our five focus areas:

Fairness in the courts

Violence Against Women and Girls

workplace equality and economic empowerment

EQUAL EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Reproductive justice

Our Legal Work

Through our litigation initiatives, we have made historic and enduring contributions to the rights and opportunities available to women. Each year we bring cases of national significance to the field of women's rights and contribute amicus ("friend of the court") briefs in cases dealing with issues central to our mission.
