Title IX

End Discrimination in the Nation's Schools

Congress, led by Hawaii Representative Patsy Mink (1927-2002), passed Title IX of the Education Amendments, barring federally funded educational institutions from discriminating on the basis of sex with respect to students and faculty. The legislation fundamentally changed education. Learn more about Legal Momentum's litigation related to Title IX and education in our Legal Cases Database.

Legal Momentum’s Pipeline Project builds upon Title IX guarantees as it aims to increase young women’s participation in career and technical training in non-traditional fields in vocational high schools throughout the country.

If you are concerned that your school may be failing to meet its responsibilities to you as a victim of sexual violence under Title IX,  please contact Legal Momentum’s Helpline at titleix@legalmomentum.org or (212) 925-6635, ext. 650.
