Jolen Anderson 

 

Jolen Anderson is a results-driven leader who brings a deep understanding of the pivotal relationship between companies and their employees to equip and empower teams for success. An attorney by training and a human resources professional by passion, she has developed business focused solutions for a variety of organizations, addressing key needs in the areas of legal, human resources,
and diversity and inclusion.


She has held leadership roles across a wide range of HR disciplines and demonstrated a commitment and passion for promoting talent in a global organization. Currently, Jolen is an investor and advisor to growth companies in the HR space, including BetterUp, the human transformation company and pioneer in digital coaching.

 

Most recently, Jolen served as the Chief People Officer for BNY Mellon, where she was responsible for managing all human resource functions in the organization, including talent management, well-being, compensation, and developing effective retention, diversity, and performance management strategies. During her time at BNY, she implemented modern people systems and cloud technology, doubled the size of early career programs, drove inclusion, exceeded diversity goals, launched new leadership and learning programs and invested in leading wellbeing, family support programs, updated mental health benefits, and increasing the minimum wage. She also led Global Impact Citizenship, which used BNY Mellon’s reach, market influence and resources to address pressing global issues, contribute to healthy economies and make a positive impact on people around the world.


Prior to BNY Mellon, she served as Visa’s chief human resources officer for the client organization, where she led a team of professionals around the world to serve as strategic advisors on all HR-related topics, creating and executing talent strategies aligned to business priorities. She also served as Visa’s senior vice president, chief diversity officer and chief counsel, employment and social responsibility, providing legal support to the global human resources organization, including counseling senior executives and the board of directors on employment, executive compensation and corporate governance matters. Prior to joining Visa, she practiced law at a Chicago law firm where she represented parties in labor and employment and antitrust matters pending in state and federal court.

 

Jolen is a top contributor and thought leader in her field. She is a member of the Executive Leadership Council and the board of trustees for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. She has been honored as Working Mother of the Year by Working Mother, Forbes (as 1 of 11 Women Who Are Changing the Face of Finance), Most Influential Women in Business by the San Francisco Business Times, Top Diversity Executive by Black Enterprise Magazine and Standout HR Professional by American Banker, among others.

 

Jolen is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Policy from Northwestern University.


Whitney Chatterjee 

 

Whitney Chatterjee is Partner & General Counsel for Apollo Global Management, where she oversees and manages its legal and compliance team and serves on the Firm’s Leadership Team.

 

Prior to joining Apollo in 2023, Whitney spent over 20 years at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP where she most recently served as a Partner in the Financial Services Group and Head of the Investment Management practice. She has extensive experience counseling investment managers to public and private funds, independent directors and trustees, fund sponsors, private investment funds and financial services companies on a wide variety of matters, including transactional, fund formation, regulatory, compliance and corporate governance matters. While at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, Whitney collaborated with clients and investment management industry groups on significant legislative and regulatory developments affecting the asset management industry.


Whitney received her J.D. from Columbia Law School and her B.A. from Hamilton College.

 


Muriel Fox, Lifetime Champion Honoree 

 

Muriel Fox is a former public relations executive and co-founder of the National Organization for Women and Legal Momentum. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Barnard College in 1948. A political speechwriter and publicist, she became a television-radio writer for Carl Byoir & Associates in New York City in 1950, and was executive president when she left the firm in 1985. She served as a president of Media Com, By/Media, Inc., and was a consultant for Hill & Knowlton, Inc. 

Fox has been an active spokeswoman for women's rights for decades. One of the founding members of the National Organization for Women (NOW), she served in several positions: vice president, chair of the board, and chair of the national advisory committee. She served as president, vice president, and board chair of the Board of Directors for Legal Momentum, and is currently an honorary chair. Fox has also been an active member of the Woman's Forum, the Women's Economic Advisory Committee in New York City, the National Women's Political Caucus, and Women Today.

Fox has previously received several awards for her professional and political work. She was named one of the 100 top corporate women by Business Week magazine (1976), was the recipient of the Matrix award in communications (1977), and was named Business Leader of the Year by Americans for Democratic Action. She received the distinguished Alumna Award from Barnard College, as well as the Eleanor Roosevelt Leadership Award from NY State NOW in 1985. Legal Momentum first honored Muriel with the Muriel Fox Communications Leadership Award (1991) and the Our Hero award (1995). Rockland County NOW honored her with the Caroline Lexow Babcock award (1997). Beginning in 1993, she chaired the board of Veteran Feminists of America.

She has lectured throughout the world on gender equality and "Moving Women Up the Corporate Ladder," among other topics. In speeches she often urged successful women to abandon their old roles as "Queen Bee" in a man's world. She is listed in Who's Who In America, Who's Who In The World, Foremost Women of the Twentieth Century, Who's Who Of American Women, and Feminists Who Changed America.


Tim Murphy, Man of Distinction 

 

Tim Murphy is Chief Administrative Officer for Mastercard, overseeing the company’s Law and Policy, Franchise, Corporate Security, Inclusion and People and Capabilities functions and Mastercard Transaction Services. He is also a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team and Management Committee.


Prior to assuming this role, Tim served as the company's general counsel for seven years, helping advance Mastercard's legal and regulatory affairs, public policy, corporate governance and compliance, while also bringing a business mindset to further evolve the legal function. Throughout his 20-plus year tenure at Mastercard, Tim has also served as chief product officer, president of the company’s U.S. region, executive vice president of customer business planning and analysis, and senior vice president and associate general counsel.

 

Before joining Mastercard in 2000, he was an associate in the New York and London offices of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton. Tim is chair of the Board of Trustees for the National Urban League and he co-chairs the Cyber Readiness Institute. He sits on the boards of Northwestern Mutual and Community Solutions. He is a member of the Aspen Cybersecurity Group, Legal Services Corporation’s Leaders Council, the Economic Club of New York, and the Council on Foreign Relations. Tim was named a Legend in Law in 2018 by the Burton Foundation.

 

He earned a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Amherst College.


Pilar S. Ramos 

 

Pilar Ramos serves as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary of TelevisaUnivision, Inc. In this role, she leads the Law, Compliance, Government Affairs, Business & Legal Affairs, Standards & Practices, and Rights Management functions. She is a core member of the company’s executive leadership team and serves as secretary to the Board. Ms. Ramos joined the company during a pivotal moment, navigating a major strategic merger that resulted in the creation of TelevisaUnivision, now recognized as the world’s leading Spanish-language media and content company.

Before joining TU in 2021, Ms. Ramos held several senior positions at Mastercard, most recently as Executive Vice President & General Counsel, North America—the company’s largest business unit. Prior to that role, she served as Senior Vice President, Global Public Policy & Regulatory Strategy Counsel, leading a global advocacy team on public policy and regulatory matters across diverse markets, spanning Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Canada, and Latin America. In that role, Ms. Ramos played a key role in addressing global trade in data and services, market access and competition law issues, and financial regulation matters. Prior to her long tenure at Mastercard, she served as General Counsel of a start-up marketplace, residing in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and as corporate counsel at DIRECTV Latin America. Ms. Ramos began her legal career as an associate in the corporate group at Simpson Thacher, in both the New York City and London offices.

Ms. Ramos earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she served as an Executive Editor of The Law Review. She earned her Bachelor of Arts cum laude in International Relations and French from Penn. As part of her undergraduate work, she studied at l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques (‘'SciencesPo’') in Paris, France.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ms. Ramos is deeply committed to leveraging diversity for the betterment of business and society. She is a member of The Council on Foreign Relations, serves as Co-Chair of the Penn Law Alumni Advisory Board on Equity and Inclusion, and holds positions on the Board of LatinoJustice and the Board of Advisors of the University of Miami Law School’s Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Program. She also remains an advisor to the Board of the YWCA Greenwich, on which she previously served. A passionate and practical leader, Ms. Ramos serves as a generous mentor through various channels, including The 30% Club, and advocates for diversity in the legal profession, particularly in leadership roles, including through her involvement in The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.

Ms. Ramos has been honored with leadership recognitions, including the Legal Momentum Aiming High Award, Council of Urban Professionals Change Agent Award, Corporate Counsel National Transformational Leadership Award, Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts Legal Champion of the Arts Award, Latino Justice Lucero Award, Leadership Institute for Women of Color Attorneys Breaking the Glass Ceiling Award, and Penn Law Women’s Association Award.
