The Bangor Daily News covered a presentation on Intimate Partner Sexual Abuse given by Lynn Hecht Schafran at the End Violence Against Women International Conference in April, 2014. 

"Domestic violence and sexual assault are often treated as 'parallel tracks but never intersecting,' [Lynn Hecht] Schafran said. But clearly the issues overlap often, and the presence of sexual assault in the home indicates a greater chance the victim will be killed. If Maine wants to save lives, it must be able to gauge the broader picture, which too often involves sexual assault."
