Brief:
Jamie Nabozny, a student in Wisconsin, was subjected to years of relentless antigay abuse by his schoolmates. School officials were aware of the abuse, yet refused to address it. Nabozny sued the school, but the trial court dismissed the lawsuit. The case went to the Seventh Circuit, which issued the first judicial opinion in U.S. history finding that a public school could be held accountable for not stopping antigay abuse.
