Addressing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

  • On September 15th, Legal Momentum's Senior Attorney for Economic Empowerment, Seher Khawaja, provided expert testimony to the NYS Department of Labor on how New York State's Sexual Harassment Prevention Model Policy can be strengthened to meaningfully address workplace harassment.

22nd Annual Aiming High Awards

  • In September we highlighted our four incredible Aiming High honorees, Loretta E. Lynch, Debra G. Perelman, Kathryn Ruemmler, and Susan B. Lindenauer, who we will celebrate at our 22nd Annual Aiming High Awards Luncheon on October 19th. It's not too late to join us, register here now! 

Moms and Black Women's Equal Pay Days

  • On September 8th, we recognized Moms Equal Pay Day, a day to raise awareness about the wage gap experienced by moms and its disproportionate impact on women of color. It was quickly followed by Black Women's Equal Pay Day on September 21st, the day into 2022 that Black women needed to work in order to earn the same amount that white men did in the previous year. 

Working Woman's Bill of Rights

  • On September 26th, LM collaborated with Oxfam America on "We Must Value and Respect Women's Work," a blog post highlighting the undervaluing of women's work in our society and the policies needed to support women and families. Featured in the post was the release of our updated Working Woman's Bill of Rights, a holistic roadmap for advocates, legislators, employers, and individuals to push for comprehensive legal reforms to advance women’s economic well-being, covering 12 cross-cutting areas.
