The brief urges the Court to reverse the lower court's decision and "affirm that its own employees are entitled to the Constitutional guarantee of the right to work in an environment free from sexual harassment and other workplace discrimination.     
  • Determined whether a domestic violence survivor could remove her name from the electronic court record of an eviction complaint to prevent adverse impacts on future house opportunities.
  • Determined the availability of unemployment insurance under New York law for a victim of domestic violence who leaves her job to relocate in order to escape abuser.
  • Determined whether a victim of domestic violence may be penalized for "failure to produce records" in an eminent domain suit, where she had lost access to her records when fleeing from her abusive husband.
  • Determined whether an employer violates federal anti-discrimination law (Title VII) by excluding contraceptives from a prescription drug plan that covers other prescriptions.
  • Regarding the Michigan's legislature's decision to "adopt and amend" two proposed ballot initatives to meaningfully raise the minimum wage and to mandate paid sick time for most employees.
